Dance Attire
Ballet
Ballet students should wear ballet pink tights and dance leotard. Shorts, black tights, leg warmers, jazz pants, or cover ups of any kind are not permitted since the instructors will need to clearly see the body of the student. Please, no jewelry or dangly earrings. Hair needs pulled back in a bun, or in a ponytail. All hair should be kept out of the face. Students should have pink leather ballet shoes. The student's name should be written in each shoe. Please do not wear shoes outside. This damages the shoes and may subsequently damage the dance floors.
Jazz
Jazz students may wear any colored leotard or dance top. Properly hemmed black jazz pants that don't drag the floor are permitted. Shorts are not permitted. Hair should be back in a ponytail and kept out of the face. Students should wear soft leather tan jazz shoes. The student's name should be written in each shoe. Please do not wear shoes outside. This damages the shoes and may subsequently damage the dance floors.
Lyrical
Ballet or Jazz attire is appropriate. Hair should be back in a ponytail and kept out of the face. Foot Undies or bare feet is acceptable.
Tap C1
Tap students should wear casual dance attire. Stretchy capri pants or properly hemmed black jazz pants that don't drag the floor are permitted. Shorts are not permitted. Hair should be back in a pony tail and kept out of the face. Black oxford tap shoes are required. The student's name should be written in each shoe. Please do not wear shoes outside. This damages the shoes and may subsequently damage the dance floors.
Jazz/Tap
Students may wear any colored leotard or dance top. Stretchy capri pants or properly hemmed black jazz pants that don't drag the floor are permitted. Shorts are not permitted. Hair should be back in a ponytail and kept out of the face. Students should wear tan soft leather jazz shoes and tan tap shoes. The student's name should be written in each shoe. Please do not wear shoes outside. This damages the shoes and may subsequently damage the dance floors.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop student may dress casually with stretchy capri pants, sweat pants or black jazz pants. Shorts are not permitted. Students should wear white street sneakers bought for this class. Please do not wear shoes outside. This damages the shoes and may subsequently damage the dance floors. The student's name should be written in each shoe.
Ballet/Tap
Children in these classes generally wear pink leotards and pink tights. Any colored leotard is acceptable. If skirts are worn, teachers recommend that they be attached to the leotard to lessen class disruption. Hair should be in a bun, ponytail, or otherwise pulled back. Children should wear pink leather ballet shoes. Please do not purchase satin ballet slippers, they fall off easily. Black patent leather tap shoes with elastic straps are required. Please do not wear shoes outside. This damages the shoes and may subsequently damage the dance floors. The student's name should be written in each shoe.
Clogging
Stretchy capri pants or properly hemmed black jazz pants that don't drag the floor are permitted. All levels of clogging require white clogging shoes with Stevens Stompers clogging taps. Hair should be back in a ponytail and kept out of the face. Please do not wear shoes outside. This damages the shoes and may subsequently damage the dance floors. Do not wear clogging shoes in the rain (taps will rust). The student's name should be written in each shoe.
Where can you buy your dancewear?
If you are purchasing before October 1st, you can come to the studio to have your child measured and their shoes will be ordered. If you are purchasing after October 1st, you can go to any of the shops listed below:
